LONG LASTING PAIN OFTEN CREATES A CHRONIC CYCLE:

PAIN lack of exercise = limited physical activity = fatigue = stress =depression =muscle tension = tightness = cramping = sensitive nerves = PAIN

CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE

Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Chinese Herbal Medicine have long successful histories dating from as far back as 2100 B.C. and are based on the fundamental principle that man is a microcosm living in the macrocosm.

There exists a deep connection between man and cosmos. Our bodies originate from the same source as the cosmos, are composed of the same substances, are affected by the same energies, and are subject to the same laws of nature.

Therefore, everything, and everyone, is linked to the same origin, the same source.

The 5 Elements

According to the theory of the 5 elements we can classify, by analogy, every phenomenon that manifests inside our bodies and in the world around us.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the 5 Elements of nature being the foundation of everything in the universe.  These elements must be in balance for our bodies to be healthy.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine work to ensure that all 5 Elements are in balance within your body.

Each element represents matter:

  1. WOOD: Represents openness, growth and flexibility. In nature, wood is linked to the spring season and, like a tree in spring, wood is linked to the maximum expression of what we are at the core. Wood is linked to the liver and gall bladder
  2. FIRE: represents warmth and vitality. Its natural movement is to rise upwards and expand. In nature, it is linked to summer when fire burns and dries liquids. Fire in the body is linked to the heart and small intestine.
  3. EARTH: Represents warmth, nourishment, transformation, and generosity. Earth balances all other elements, and is linked to the spleen and stomach.
  4. METAL: represents firmness and flexibility together, as well as discipline. Metal is related to autumn; in the body it is linked to the lungs and large Intestine.
  5. WATER: represents stillness and signifies winter. Good nutrition and rest during the winter allow the body to better handle the transition into spring. Water nourishes the body same as Earth. In the body it is linked to the kidneys and bladder.

Healing is POSSIBLE!

STRESS ANXIETY HEADACHE

Can acupuncture relieve pain?

The simple answer is, YES! Acupuncture is a time-tested, safe, effective, natural, and drug-free way to eliminate pain.

Pain is a body’s warning alarm that something is wrong, out of balance.

Would you ignore the fire alarm in your house? Of course not. Unfortunately, many people ignore their pain—or control it by taking pain killers which causes negative side effects.

You can expect severe health problems to develop at some point if you take painkillers and neglect to address the issue causing the pain.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture lessens pain by reducing stress and by restoring balance between body and mind.

Acupuncture, in fact, appears able to control brain areas related to pain. The needles stimulate areas richer in blood vessels and nerves than neighboring ones. This in turn increases production of endorphins (our natural painkillers), relaxes the muscles, and has a local anti-inflammatory effect.

Acupuncture treatments go a long way in improving quality of life by controlling chronic pain, but also by fixing imbalances in the energy field of the body.

YING YANG

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, everything is composed of YIN and YANG.  The fluctuation between them determines the manifestation of reality.

Humans are part of the cosmos, unique yet indistinguishable from it. Both contain yin and yang.

Matter and energy originate from the interaction of yin and yang.

This brings us back to the concept that everything is related to its own origin, and everything is composed of yin and yang.

The 5 Elements derive from the interaction of yin and yang: they are the fundamental forces that exist in nature. Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water interact dynamically with each other through metamorphosis.

Together, they create 5 different forms of matter that circle back around:

  • Fire burns Wood;
  • ash from the Fire falls on the earth;
  • from the Earth, Metal is born;
  • Metal transforms into liquids and forms Water;
  • Water nourishes Wood.

This same cycle also occurs in our body:

  • Wood is the Liver;
  • Fire is the Heart;
  • Earth is the Spleen;
  • Metal is the Lung;
  • Water is the Kidney.

We are the microcosm in the macrocosm.
